Maple Ridge is excited to welcome Ms. Griffith as our new school counselor for the upcoming school year. She was previously the school counselor at Barnett Elementary in Payson. She attended Utah Valley University and is from Springville, Utah.
Ms. Griffith loves traveling, especially visiting her children who live out out of state. she also loves staying active, reading, painting, crocheting, and learning anything about psychology and behavior. Something exciting about Ms. Griffith is that she will be a grandma for the first time soon!

We overlooked posting about our Mathletes for last school year but wanted to give them a shout out (even a late one)! Students are invited to participate in our Mathletes program based on teacher recommendation, RISE test scores, and other assessments. Ms. Riley Wolfgramm was their coach this year and we are very appreciative of the time she spent volunteering to help them improve their math skills!
This year's participants were: Tyson Barrio, Tyson Butler, Alice Earl, Hazel Edwards, Jackson Eppich, Gwynn Gurr, Aubrey Harper, Caden Herman, Kaj Kim, Kehl Kuhni, Lena Meier, Gabe Mills, Elise Morgan, Austin Nelson, Bodi Parkinson, Bo Partridge, Reese Peterson, Reagan Rothlisberger, Caitlyn Skinner, Lydia Williams, and Alice Wright.

We. need your help spreading the word about Kindergarten Registration! Please tell your friends and neighbors if they have children that will be starting kindergarten at Maple Ridge in the fall. It was so much fun seeing many of our former Maple Ridge students in their cap and gown before their graduation from Maple Mountain High School last week. We are so glad you came! @mmhs_goldeneagles
We had an epic goodbye party for Mrs. Matis on Monday complete with all the things she loves: VIPs (former Maple Ridge employees and community members), a fancy limo ride, costumes, music, a game, and even a flash mob! It was the best day celebrating with her! Many thanks to our @maple_ridge_elementary_PTA, @nataliefeltphotography, @limorydeutah, @mapletonpolice, @minkycouture , @utahtib, @principallori, @kenzie_peach, Curtis Simmons, Colter Manning, Heather Nelson, Joe Davies, the Maple Ridge Faculty and Staff and SO many others who made dreams come true and helped us have such an amazing time. Mrs. Matis is one of a kind! We have been blessed to have her at Maple Ridge for 11 years and we will miss her immensely!

We are "berry" lucky to have Mrs. Matis and Ms. Steiner at Maple Ridge. We could not ask for better leadership. We were happy to celebrate them this week as part of National School Principals' Day! We love you both "berry" much! Thank you for all you do for students and teachers and for making Maple Ridge a place we enjoy going to work and learn everyday!

Last week we celebrated our AMAZING secretaries. Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Gatley are the heart of our school. They work so hard to take care of all of us everyday--they are not just secretaries. They are nurses, therapists, problem-solvers, teacher helpers, technology supporters, party planners, copy makers...they do all this and more. Above all, they are KIND and we know they love us. Those are the best kind of secretaries you could ask for in an elementary school. We are lucky to have them at Maple Ridge! We love you, Mrs. Gatley and Mrs. Simmons!

The Central Utah Science and Engineering Fair was held on March 18th and 19th at the BYU Conference Center. Nebo had over 150 students participate in the elementary, junior, and senior divisions.

PTA sponsored Food Truck Night! Save the Date!
Maple Ridge fifth graders got to experience a fun science activity with USU 4H about what happens when spheres collide.
Mrs. Barlow's 2nd grade class recently finished the CKLA Human Body unit. At the beginning of the unit, the students make 'doctor name tags' and are told that this unit is similar to a "mini medical school" like what doctors learn. At the end of the unit, students take their unit assessment and then participate in a 'doctor graduation'. They 'scrub in' with gloves and a mask and put together their own stethoscope to keep. Then they walk across the front of the room and receive their mini medical school diploma. It is so fun to cheer for their classmates as everyone graduates!
A reminder that students will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, March 18th.
