Mrs. Esplin's first graders just finished talking about body systems. They made a project where they got to put in the different parts of the body system and then they wrote a sentence about why they love their body.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. First graders in Mrs. Williams' class celebrated one of their classmates, Addie who has been undergoing treatments for leukemia for almost 2 years, by wearing gold every Friday in September. We are so lucky to have Addie at our school and that she is on the path to be healthy and strong again. #noonefightsalone #childhoodcancerawareness

Mrs. Kaelyn Short is a new second grade teacher at Maple Ridge this year. She previously taught at East Meadows Elementary in Spanish Fork. Mrs. Short attended Brigham Young University and is from Eugene, Oregon.

Mrs. Short loves to laugh, be active outside, read, and has recently started to get more into photography and sewing. Something interesting about Mrs. Short is that she lived in Argentina for a year. She has also hiked in the Alps! Welcome to Maple Ridge, Mrs. Short! We are excited to have you as a member of our pride this year!

Mrs. Elise Park is a new fifth grade teacher at Maple Ridge this year. She previously taught at Barratt Elementary in American Fork. Mrs. Park attended Brigham Young University and is from Orlando, Florida.

Mrs. Park enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and traveling with family. Welcome to Maple Ridge! We are excited to welcome Mrs. Park and to have her as part of our pride this year!

Mrs. Megan Olson is a new fifth grade teacher this year at Maple Ridge. She taught third grade at Maple Ridge in the past and took some time off. We are pleased to have her back this year! Mrs. Olson attended Utah Valley University and is from Spanish Fork.

Mrs. Olson enjoys reading, spending time with family, and DIY projects. A big welcome back, Mrs. Olson! We are happy to have you!

Ms. Jaylee Cofran is a new second grade teacher this year at Maple Ridge. She attended Utah Valley University and is from Payson, Utah.

Ms. Cofran loves to eat fruits, vegetables and sweets. She also enjoys snowboarding and running. We are excited to welcome Ms. Cofran to Maple Ridge and to have her be a part of our pride this year!

Mrs. Robyn Calderon is a new kindergarten teacher this year at Maple Ridge. She previously taught reading intervention groups at Maple Ridge so many of our students will recognize her! Mrs. Calderon attended Brigham Young University and is from Moreno Valley, California.

Mrs. Calderon enjoys reading, hiking, biking, walking, and traveling. We are excited to have Mrs. Calderon join our kindergarten team this year!

Ms. Katelyn Craig is a new second grade teacher this year at Maple Ridge. She attended Utah Valley University and is from Santaquin. Ms. Craig enjoys clogging, hiking, and paddle boarding. We are excited to have her be a part of our pride this year at Maple Ridge!

Follow the directions in the picture to see your student’s class assignment on Wednesday, August 5th. We have spent many hours thoughtfully placing each student with their teacher based on previous teacher feedback and other information so that we could make balanced classrooms.

We are excited to have students back in our building and look forward to a great year! We hope to see you all at the Open House on August 17th from 1:00-3:00.

Ms. Emily Peery is the new instructional coach this year at Maple Ridge. She previously taught third grade at Apple Valley Elementary in Santaquin. Ms. Peery attended Brigham Young University and is from Spanish Fork.

Ms. Peery enjoys traveling, shopping, Taylor Swift, pink, Broadway, and being in the sunshine. We are excited to welcome Ms. Peery to Maple Ridge and to have her be a part of our pride this year!

Mrs. Trisha Esplin is a new first grade teacher at Maple Ridge this year. She previously taught at Westside Elementary in Springville. Mrs. Esplin attended Southern Utah University and she is from Springville, Utah.

Mrs. Esplin loves waking and hiking, sports, cruises, and Disneyland. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Esplin and to have her as part of our pride this year!

If you have a kindergarten student starting at Maple Ridge in the fall, please bring them to a short assessment so we can get to know them a little better before school starts in August! Pass the word to your neighbors!

Ms. Julia Mattingley is a new third grade teacher at Maple Ridge this year. Ms. Mattingley was previously a math intervention technician at Maple Ridge so many of our students will recognize her. She attended Brigham Young University and is from Mason, Ohio.

Ms. Mattingley loves to be with her friends and family. She also loves playing pickleball, going to the beach or pool, watching movies, and doing crafts.
