Today we had our "Cecil's Fun in the Sun Day" and it was so much fun! We are so grateful to our @maple_ridge_elementary_PTA and parent helpers who came to help run the games and make the day successful. The grand finale was the fire truck and many kids were brave enough to get wet despite the cooler weather. A big thank you to @mapletonfirerescue for bringing the fire truck!

We were so lucky to have our District Music Coach, Laura Brockbank, come to Maple Ridge on St. Patrick's Day to play her bagpipes and teach students about Irish music and culture. Mrs. Brockbank is so talented and we are grateful that we had her expertise this year at Maple Ridge!

Our Maple Ridge First graders were able to have Red Butte Gardens visit their classes recently. They became plant scientists and were able to conduct experiments to determine which plants had the characteristics necessary to survive in a desert habitat. Red Butte Gardens did an amazing job and because of our most recent CKLA unit on Animal Habitats, students had some incredible background knowledge to help create their predictions.

In February, our PTA sponsored White Ribbon Week for Internet Safety at Maple Ridge. Students participated in various activities throughout the week that helped emphasize being safe and kind while using technology. At the end of the week, students had a light up dance party and reviewed the things they learned. It was a fun week and students learned a lot. A big thank you to our @maple_ridge_elementary_PTA!

Shannon Wolfgramm was recently recognized by Craig Harvey as our 2024-25 Maple Ridge Classified Employee. Mrs. Wolfgramm is an instructional technician and does so much for our school. She does LOTS of recess duty in all kinds of weather, she tutors students, does all sorts of projects, makes copies, covers classes when needed, and even sometimes helps on field trips! Our school would not function without our fantastic technicians and Shannon is one of the best! Thank you Mrs. Wolfgramm for all you do! @horacemanninsurance @craigharvey.agency

Magic Mike visited students today for the Maple Ridge Strong assembly to talk about the "Magic in Me." Students learned that they have the power to choose how they take care of their bodies and stay healthy. Magic Mike also talked about the choices we make everyday in how we treat others. We can choose to be kind and helpful. We can choose to reach out to others when they need our support. Thank you Magic Mike for your magical and wonderful lesson!
